Anloga Marks National Sanitation Day with Clean-Up Exercise and Donation of Sanitation Equipment

The people of Anloga gathered at the Anloga Market to observe this year’s National Sanitation Day with a community clean-up exercise aimed at promoting environmental cleanliness and improving public health.

The exercise brought together residents, local authorities, sanitation workers, and other stakeholders, who worked collectively to clean the market and its surroundings. Participants swept the area, cleared refuse, and emphasized the importance of maintaining a clean environment to prevent the spread of diseases.

A highlight of the event was the presentation of sanitation items and cleaning tools to support sanitation activities in the district. The items were presented by the Regional Environmental Health Officer and the Chief Director of the Volta Regional Coordinating Council to the District Chief Executive (DCE) and the District Environmental Health Officer (DEHO) of Anloga.

Receiving the items, the District Chief Executive expressed appreciation for the support and reaffirmed the Assembly’s commitment to improving sanitation across the district. He noted that the equipment would strengthen environmental sanitation efforts and encouraged residents to complement the initiative by keeping their homes, markets, and public spaces clean at all times.

The National Sanitation Day celebration underscored the importance of collaboration between government agencies and the community in creating a cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable Anloga District.
