Government’s “Akokɔ Nkitinkiti” Project Launched in Anloga District

The Government’s Akokɔ Nkitinkiti poultry initiative has officially been launched in the Anloga District, with beneficiary households receiving chickens to begin small-scale poultry farming as part of efforts to enhance food security and improve livelihoods.

The launch ceremony was attended by the District Chief Executive (DCE), the District Coordinating Director (DCD), the District Director of Agriculture, and the Presiding Member, who jointly presented the birds to beneficiaries from communities within the district.

The distribution included both broiler and layer chickens, providing beneficiaries with opportunities for meat production as well as egg production to generate income and improve household nutrition.

Addressing the gathering, district officials encouraged beneficiaries to take good care of the birds to ensure the success of the programme. They noted that the Akokɔ Nkitinkiti project forms part of the government’s broader efforts to empower households, promote poultry production, and create sustainable economic opportunities, particularly in rural communities.

Beneficiaries expressed appreciation to the government and the district authorities for the support, describing the initiative as a timely intervention that will help improve their livelihoods while contributing to local food production.

The launch of the project marks another step in the Anloga District’s efforts to promote agricultural development and support community-based economic growth.
