Volta Rcc Chief Director Tours All 18 MMDA’s; Anloga District Assembly Benefits From Staff Engagement

The Chief Director of the Volta Regional Coordinating Council (VRCC), Alhaji Avona Mohammed Akape, has successfully undertaken a tour of all eighteen Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDAs) in the Volta Region as part of efforts to strengthen collaboration, improve communication, and engage directly with staff members across the region.

The tour provided a platform for the Chief Director to interact with management and staff of the various assemblies, discuss challenges confronting local governance, and explore ways of enhancing service delivery at the local level.

Addressing staff during the engagements, Alhaji Akape emphasized the importance of professionalism, commitment, discipline, and teamwork in the effective implementation of government policies and programmes. He urged staff to remain dedicated to their duties and continue to support the decentralization agenda aimed at bringing development closer to the people.

The Chief Director noted that the exercise was intended not only to familiarize himself with the operational realities of the assemblies but also to create an avenue for staff to openly share concerns and suggestions that could contribute to improving administrative efficiency and productivity.

Among the assemblies visited was the Anloga District Assembly, which was not exempted from the regional tour. During his interaction with staff of the Assembly, Alhaji Akape commended them for their dedication to duty and encouraged them to sustain their efforts towards the development of the district. Staff members of the Assembly expressed appreciation for the visit and welcomed the opportunity to engage directly with the Chief Director on matters affecting their work and welfare.

Throughout the tour, staff raised issues relating to logistics, capacity building, staff welfare, and operational challenges. The Chief Director assured them that the Regional Coordinating Council would continue to collaborate with relevant authorities and stakeholders to address the concerns raised and improve working conditions across the region.

The tour is expected to further strengthen the relationship between the Regional Coordinating Council and the MMDAs, foster greater staff motivation, and enhance the delivery of quality public services to the people of the Volta Region.
