Volta Regional Minister visits Anloga District Assembly as part of regional tour of MMDAs

The Volta Regional Minister,Hon. James Gunu accompanied by the Chief Director of the Volta Regional Coordinating Council (VRCC), Mr. Augustine Awity, paid a working visit to the Anloga District Assembly on Monday, July 14, 2025, as part of a tour of all 18 Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDAs) in the Volta Region.

The visit formed part of the Minister’s efforts to assess the performance of the various Assemblies, monitor the implementation of government policies and development projects, and engage with local authorities on key challenges affecting service delivery and socio-economic development.

During the visit, the Minister met with the District Coordinating Director, Heads of Departments, Assembly staff and other key stakeholders to discuss the Assembly’s achievements, ongoing projects, revenue mobilization, infrastructure development and priority areas requiring government support. The delegation also inspected selected projects to assess their progress and impact on the lives of residents.

The Regional Minister commended the Assembly for its commitment to promoting development and urged staff to remain dedicated to delivering quality public services. He emphasized the importance of teamwork, accountability and prudent resource management in achieving the government’s development agenda.

The Chief Director of the Volta Regional Coordinating Council, Mr. Augustine Awity, encouraged staff to continue upholding professionalism and ensuring the effective implementation of government programmes and policies.

The Anloga District Assembly expressed appreciation for the visit and reaffirmed its commitment to working closely with the Volta Regional Coordinating Council and other stakeholders to accelerate development and improve the well-being of the people of the district.
