DCE Outlines Strategic Development Agenda for Anloga District on Jubilee Radio

The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Anloga District earlier today appeared on Jubilee Radio, where he shared a comprehensive strategic vision aimed at driving inclusive and sustainable development across the district.

Speaking during the interview, the DCE reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening the healthcare system. He disclosed plans to collaborate closely with government to ensure the completion of the Agenda 111 hospital project at Agortoe, as well as upgrade the Anloga Clinic into a modern polyclinic. He further emphasized the need to improve Community-based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) compounds by deploying qualified health professionals to enhance service delivery.

On education, the DCE outlined targeted interventions to address infrastructure deficits, provide essential teaching and learning materials, and improve academic performance. He announced the introduction of the DCE’s Inter-Senior High School Quiz Competition to promote healthy academic competition, alongside renewed support for scholarship schemes and advocacy for the timely release of the Capitation Grant.

Touching on road infrastructure, he highlighted ongoing and planned efforts to construct and rehabilitate key roads, including the Galo-Sota Junction to Bomigo, Agortoe Junction to Blemazado, Kome Junction to Fiaxor, Savietula to Dzita, and Anyanui to Tunu, to improve connectivity and ease transportation challenges.

In the tourism sector, the DCE revealed plans to revamp and promote major attractions such as Torkor Atorlia, the Atorkor Slave Market, Dzita Turtle Grounds, and the Cape St. Paul Lighthouse. He noted that leveraging international partnerships would be key to attracting investment, boosting tourism, and creating employment opportunities for residents.

On industrial development, he announced a proposal to establish a high-quality ceramic industry at Bomigo. According to him, the initiative will create jobs, promote local craftsmanship, and stimulate economic growth through value addition.

Addressing climate change, the DCE outlined plans to promote a blue economy through the implementation of blue carbon projects in coastal communities including Akplorwotorkor, Anyanui, Dzita, Atiteti, Bomigo, Fuveme, Salo, and Tunu. These initiatives will focus on mangrove conservation while creating opportunities for carbon exchange to support global climate goals.

He also reiterated his commitment to youth and women empowerment through skills development programmes, support for women entrepreneurs via MASLOC, and initiatives such as the proposed Women Development Bank, alongside improved market infrastructure.

In agriculture and fisheries, the DCE pledged to facilitate timely access to farm inputs, promote the dredging of canals to support fishing, and encourage agribusiness ventures to reduce post-harvest losses and boost productivity. Additionally, he highlighted plans to promote livestock rearing in communities such as Alakple, Atito, Azanu, Fiaxor, Galosota, and Sodzi to enhance livelihoods and food security.

The DCE concluded by reaffirming his unwavering dedication to improving the living standards of the people of Anloga District through inclusive, people-centered, and sustainable development policies.
