DCE Donates HIV Self-Test Kits and Condoms to Strengthen Public Health Efforts

15th May, 2025

The District Chief Executive (DCE) has donated HIV self-test kits and condoms to the District Health Directorate as part of ongoing efforts to promote good health and well-being within the district.

The donation, made earlier today at the Assembly, is aimed at improving access to essential health tools that support prevention and early detection of sexually transmitted infections (STIs), including HIV. By expanding access to self-testing kits, individuals are empowered to take charge of their health in a more private and convenient manner, while also encouraging timely diagnosis and treatment.

Speaking during the presentation, the DCE emphasized the importance of proactive health measures, noting that prevention and awareness remain key in reducing the spread of infections. The provision of condoms further reinforces efforts to promote safe practices and protect public health.

This initiative aligns with Sustainable Development Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-being), which seeks to ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages.

The DCE reaffirmed a strong commitment to supporting health interventions across the district, stressing the need for continuous collaboration with health authorities and stakeholders to build a healthier population.

“Together, we will continue to build a healthier, more informed, and resilient community,” the DCE stated.
