Solar-Powered Streetlights Installed in Nyakpati and Penyito to Improve Safety.
4th November, 2025
Residents of Nyakpati and Penyito in the Anloga District are set to benefit from improved nighttime safety and visibility following the installation of new solar-powered streetlights in the communities.
The initiative forms part of ongoing efforts to enhance security and support daily activities after dark, particularly in areas that are not yet connected to the national electricity grid. While authorities continue to pursue full grid electrification for these communities, the solar-powered lights provide a reliable and sustainable interim solution.
The newly installed streetlights are expected to brighten public spaces, reduce security risks, and make it easier for residents to move around at night. They will also support evening economic and social activities, including small gatherings and local businesses, contributing to overall community well-being.
Community members have welcomed the development, expressing optimism that the improved lighting will create a safer and more convenient environment for all.
