Anloga District Assembly Marks 68th Independence Day Anniversary

The Anloga District Assembly has commemorated the 68th Independence Day anniversary of Ghana with a colourful ceremony that brought together traditional leaders, students, security agencies, and members of the public.

The event, held at the district’s main durbar grounds, was marked by a parade of school children and security personnel, who displayed discipline and patriotism in honour of the nation’s historic milestone. The celebration was under the national theme emphasizing unity, resilience, and development.

In an address delivered on behalf of the government, the District Chief Executive highlighted the significance of independence and urged citizens to uphold the values of hard work, peace, and national unity. He emphasized that the progress of the district depends on the collective efforts of all stakeholders and called for renewed commitment toward local development initiatives.

The DCE also used the occasion to commend teachers and students for their dedication, noting that education remains a key pillar for the district’s growth. Awards were presented to deserving schools and individuals who excelled during the parade.

Traditional leaders present at the ceremony called for continued collaboration between the Assembly and community members to address development challenges and improve livelihoods.

The celebration concluded with cultural performances that showcased the rich heritage of the Anlo people, reinforcing a sense of identity and pride among residents.
