VRA Officials visit Anloga District to Commiserate with Flood victims on 17th October, 2023.

The spillage of the Akosombo Dam is causing widespread flooding with houses submerged and roads cut off in some parts of the district. The spillage of the dam has also caused significant damage to infrastructure in the affected areas. Some of the hard-hit communities included Genui, Atito, Fiaxor, Salo, Sakome, Agorbledokui, Bleamezado, Trekume, Dosukope, Benadzi, Kpordui, Suipe, Azanu among others.

On Tuesday, 17th October, 2023, some officials of the Volta River Authority were in Anloga District to commiserate with the flood victims. The VRA in collaboration with NADMO has also supported the Assembly with some relieve items including rice, oil, tomato, beans, maize etc to be distributed to the affected victims. The District Chief Executive of the Anloga District Assembly, Hon. Seth Yormewu, who received the items on behalf of the victims thanked the VRA for the gesture. The VRA has also empathizes with the difficulties that the flood victims continue to face, and has promised to continue to provide support to the affected victims.
