Anloga District Assembly Marks 36th National Farmers Day Celebration on 6th November, 2020

On 6th of November 2020, Anloga district marked the 36th National Farmer’s day celebration at the forecourt of the Anloga District Assembly. Under the theme ā€œAgribusiness Development under COVID-19–Opportunities and Challengesā€.

The programme attracted Farmers from the District, Fisherfolks, Fish Mongers Association, and many others.

Some Farmers exhibited their wares.

The Agric Director Welcomed all who were present at the ceremony and thanked them for making it to this propitious occasion.

The Hon. District Chief Executive in his speech also welcomed everyone present for the occasion. He stated in his speech that the effect of this pandemic has taught the world a lesson on the need for agricultural modernization and the employment of modern technology in agricultural practices.

He Further enumerated some challenges that confront our gallant farmers. He indicated that such challenges include low farm yields, high post-harvest losses, low level of mechanization, poorly motivated and low numbers of extension officers, unavailable marketing infrastructure, and a general lack of access to Agric financing.

He congratulated our esteemed hardworking farmers for all their efforts and monumental achievement in feeding the District and the nation. He admonished them to take a cue from their own success and strive to work much harder to achieve more laurels.

The Best farmers were handsomely rewarded and celebrated.

The Days celebration ended with Closing remark from the Chairman Torgbi Kpemini Gawu, Fia Of Whuti who also edged our gallant farmers on to strive harder and not to relent on their efforts in feeding the people of Anloga District.
